Congressman Rothman Welcomes NJIT Students to Nation's Capital
(Washington, DC)On Tuesday, September 25, 2007, Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ) welcomed a group of Executive MBA students from The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) to Washington, DC.
Addressing them on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, Rothman discussed the accomplishments of the 110th Congress and answered their questions on range of topics, which included outsourcing and differences between the last Congress and the new one.
Rep. Rothman pointed out that the new Congress has prioritized making higher education more accessible to all Americans. This week, for example, the College Cost Reduction and Access Act became law. This legislation is the largest investment in higher education since the 1944 GI Bill.
The NJIT students were in town for a seminar about policymaking presented by The Washington Campus, a consortium of business schools of 16 universities that educates graduate business students and executives of major U.S. and international corporations on the process of government.
